She believes that learning a language should be a positive and enjoyable experience. That’s why she aims to create a warm and supportive environment where students feel comfortable expressing themselves, making mistakes, and building confidence. Her background in Special Education has helped her better understand and support different learning profiles, allowing her to adapt her teaching methodology in a way that works best for each student.

For her, teaching is not just about learning a language, but also about creating a space where students feel encouraged, understood, and motivated to keep learning.

Coming from a Greek family with roots in Canada, Labrini has a personal connection to the Greek diaspora, which has also shaped her academic interests. Her master’s thesis, titled “The Impact of the Educational System on the Multilingualism of Expatriate Greeks in Canada,” examined how educational policies and the sociocultural environment influence multilingualism, language attitudes, and the preservation of linguistic diversity among Greeks in Canada.

Her academic background and professional experience have led her to specialize in language teaching, with a particular interest in Greek as a second or foreign language. She has furthered her professional training through seminars and conferences in multilingualism and special education. She also speaks English and French.

Labrini strives to create an environment where every student feels comfortable, supported and confident in their ability to learn and progress.

As a native Greek speaker with a strong knowledge of English as a foreign language, he enjoys working with learners from different backgrounds and helping them develop their Greek language skills in a supportive, engaging and enjoyable environment.

Outside of teaching, he enjoys writing and is currently working on his own novel! He is also passionate about swimming and travelling around the world.

She has been teaching Greek to international students for several years and loves meeting people from different countries and cultural backgrounds.

Her lessons often include conversation, role-play, games and creative activities. Her background in theatre has strongly influenced the way she teaches, and she particularly enjoys creating a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable speaking, experimenting with the language and, of course, making mistakes.

Outside the classroom, Mary loves theatre, literature, cinema and travelling. She is always curious about people, stories and different ways of seeing the world, interests that naturally find their way into her lessons and conversations with students.

What she enjoys most about teaching Greek is seeing the moment when students stop thinking of Greek as something they are studying and start using it as a language they can actually live, communicate and express themselves in.

For Mary, the best lessons are the ones filled with conversation, curiosity, creativity and a good sense of humor.
